Sport allows players of all ages, especially children, to develop skills and participate in the spirit of competition.

With competitive opportunities becoming more accessible as the value of sport increases within our society, it is important not to forget the principles of Fair Play. The following guidelines have been produced for all those involved in squash to adopt enabling the success of our sport to continue.


1. PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT
i. Play for enjoyment, not just to please your parents or coach.
ii. Abide by the rules and spirit of the sport.
iii. Never argue with the decisions of coaching staff
iv. Control your temper - no foul language or damage to any equipment.
v. Work equally hard for yourself and your team - your team's performance will benefit and so will your own.
vi. Treat all participants as you yourself would like to be treated.
vii. Don't interfere with, bully or take unfair advantage of any other player.
viii. Remember that the aim of sport is to have fun, improve your skills and feel good.
ix. At the end of play applaud everybody
x. Win with humility - Lose with dignity.
xi. Watch all belongings
xii. Do not smoke, drink or take drugs.
xiii. Do not wear jewellery of any type.
xiv. Wear shin pads if you have them.

2. PARENT CODE OF CONDUCT
i. Do not force an unwilling youngster to participate.
ii. Never ridicule or shout at your child, or any other, for making a mistake or losing.
iii. Encourage you child always to play by the laws of the sport
iv. Focus on your children's efforts rather than their win or loss.
v. Turn defeat into victory by helping young people work towards skill improvement and good sportsmanship.
vi. Remember that young people learn best by example.
vii. Do not publicly question the judgement or honesty of coaching staff
viii. Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from all levels of youth sport.
ix. Recognise the value and importance of volunteer coaches and officials and show your appreciation accordingly.
x. Applaud all good play.

3. SPECTATOR CODE OF CONDUCT
i. Remember that young people are taking part in organised sport, which is intended to be played for enjoyment. The are not professional or international palyers.
ii. Be on your best behaviour. Do not use profane language or harass players, coaches or officials.
iii. Acknowledge good performance and Fair Play by opponents as well as by your own team.
iv. Show respect for opponents and officials. Without them there would be no competition.
v. Condemn the use of violence in all forms.
vi. Verbal abuse of players or officials is not acceptable in any shape or form.
