Streetcage Sports has just secured its biggest contract to date starting in June 2008 with both A number of organisations across the North West Service and the Fire support network.
This project will see Streetcage Sports delivering 6 sites across several nights a week in Liverpool with numbers increasing based on the success of projects.

 

For this reason Streetcage Sports will be looking to recruit confident & qualified coaching staff with experience of working in anti-social behaviour reduction football based programmes with youths aged 8 – 16 years of age.


The aims of these sessions is to reduce anti-social behaviour and Youth crime, as well as offering Youths the opportunity to complete a number of courses that can be viewed on our ‘Education’ page, thus improving life skills and aspirations in Youths across The North West.


We are currently on the look out for 10 Part time coaches who want to work in sites, 2 evenings a week and/or School Holiday day projects starting in July 2008. Part time staff will be placed in designated sites to work 3 hours per night with youths aged 8 – 18 Years of age.


Coaches will be required to teach a ‘Skills’ based programme to Youths, as well as delivering an education package that is based around Social & practical skills. Coaches will receive full training & resources on both skills based and education programmes throughout a 2 -Day training day (Venue to be confirmed)

Streetcage Sports are currently looking for individuals who are over 16 to work along side qualified coaches to produce exhibition free style football, as well as demonstrating individual tricks and skills as part of a programme. We are searching for individuals to work across 35 sites of The North West.

The individual will support the coach in demonstrating skills, by breaking down skills and assisting Youths who want to learn exciting new tricks. The individuals will also act as a role model to Youths in the area and help offer advice on improving skills and life skills, with the support of the coach.

Streetcage Sports will also help individuals through their F.A coaching badges completely ‘FREE’ and also offer support with full time education should they be looking to get onto a college course or into employment within the Sports industry.

Individuals will be supplied with full training as well as ‘Streetcage Sports’ coaching kit and be also, have the opportunity to perform in exhibitions across The North West.

Individuals will also have their own space on our Videos page, which will include a photograph, Personal profile and a 60 second Video of them producing tricks. There will also be the opportunity to appear in a number of local and national press releases to support the work you will do.

Streetcage Sports has now agreed a partnership with ‘Aim Higher’ & ‘The North West Sports Partnership’ to work with Youths and volunteers that would like to learn more about coaching and have to complete 200 hours of community coaching with Streetcage Sports in any one of our 35 sites across The North West.

Candidates will work closely with Streetcage Sports management as well as site coaches to learn about all aspects of coaching from management all the way through to preparation and delivery of sessions.

Candidates will receive a full support pack as well as being given a designated learning mentor, who will support them through their 200 hours. Candidates will be expected to be punctual, well motivated and have a good professional manner that will help assist coaches throughout The North West.

Individuals will also be given the chance to complete F.A Level 1 & 2 Qualified coaching courses, as well as J.S.L.A and C.S.L.A Certificates in Sports coaching.

Voluntary Coaches

 

Chris Robinson is 22 years of age and from Childwall, Liverpool.  As a student from John Moore’s University,Liverpool, Chris got involved with Streetcage Sports school.  Now 6 months on and graduated, Chris explains how he got involved with Streetcage Sports & how staying involved as a Volunteer helped him become a coach and reach his goal of becoming a fire fighter.

 

 

Andrew Jones is 19 years old and is currently studying a Sports degree at John Moore’s University, Liverpool.  Andrew has recently got involved with Streetcage Sports as part of a voluntary work placement through his sports course.  Andrew is currently learning & developing as a coach and in this interview explains how Streetcage Sports has benefited him and how he sees it giving him opportunities in the future.
