The Mayor was delighted to watch the youths put on an exhibition of skills and tricks to show what they had learnt and also got the chance to talk about their education programme. Streetcage Sports was also delighted to build another successful partnership with Merseyide Fire & Rescue service. The fire service where able to provide youngsters with a Streetcage Sports t-shirt that also included the Fire logo on the back to promote the small fire initiative in the area. Louise Shute from the Fire & Rescue service said “We have been working with Streetcage Sports to help get youngsters in positive activities such as football, when they might normally be starting the fires. This event has been a great success and we are now planning to link up in other events across The North West, where small fires are a problem” Finally, we where also delighted to be visited by Wilf Barton from the
North Wirral Crime prevention panel. The panel have been working extremely
hard for the past 18 months to attract the funding to deliver the projects
at the 2 cages. We were delighted that the youths had the chance to thank
him in person. |
