Fairbridge event is massive success!

On Friday 14th July 2006, Streetcage Sports completed a superb one- day event at the Albert Dock, Liverpool.

The event was hosted and designed by the youths who attend the Fairbridge education centre and they all selected a Street, urban feel for this event.

The event included Graffiti Art, Break dance, DJ lessons and Streetcage Sports who also had their own caged area for youths to perform tricks to a wide audience of passes bye. Streetcage Sports had worked with youths on two previous sessions to design and bring to life an exhibition of football using music, skills, movement and Art. All youths impressed Streetcage staff with their enthusiasm and exciting ideas that helped make the event a huge success on the day.

The event helped the youths of Fairbridge demonstrate the skills that they have learnt, which have included communication, respect, teamwork, mind mapping, Dance, Art, Music and much more. All Youths received a certificate for the work they have carried out over the 12 months, in front of proud family members and members of the public.

Lynn Bellard, Manager of Fairbridge said “The event has been a great success and the outcome has shown that all Youths are capable of great things when together they put their mind to it, we are all very proud of them”

Streetcage Sports now intend to work closely with Fairbridge to design an education programme that can be worked on throughout the year and will have a major input from youths who will design everything from the clothing range, Graffiti surroundings, music, marketing and skills that will help them host their own event in 2007 and again during the 2008 capital of culture.
